This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Deliver pre-sales technical assistance for intricate products, applications, and solutions.
• Offer technical knowledge to sales personnel and clients through presentations and product demonstrations.
• Foster technical relationships with clients.
• Evaluate potential applications of company products to fulfill customer requirements.
• Prepare product specifications along with design and implementation documents.
• Create mini applications, quick prototypes, and product demonstrations to showcase feasibility.
• Consult with potential users to assess and validate product functionalities.
• Negotiate technical specifications and performance trade-offs with customers.
• Engage in customer design reviews and contribute to technical responses for RFIs/RFQs.
• Gather customer requirements and application scenarios.
• Activate transceiver modules at customer locations, troubleshoot prototypes, and develop solutions that support end-user applications and product design-ins.
• Develop and oversee customer product documentation, including corrective actions, analysis reports, manufacturing test plans, performance improvement plans, reliability qualification plans, and associated reports.
• Manage the Product Change Notification process in collaboration with customers and engineering teams.
• Take part in Failure Analysis, Corrective Action, and Lessons Learned initiatives.
• Collaborate with Product Line Management, Sales, R&D, Product Development, and key customers.
• Report directly to the Senior Director of Sales.
• Bachelor's degree in physical sciences, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of engineering experience in designing, developing, or testing coherent optical modules and components, ideally with active products, specifically DSPs, receivers, modulators, and lasers.
• Direct experience in product development and NPI processes with either an optical components/modules company or a system OEM.
• Practical knowledge of transceiver hardware, including the specification and testing of firmware/hardware interfaces.
• Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
• Familiarity with device firmware structure and functionality is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of standards documents such as CMIS, C-CMIS, Ethernet, and Infiniband.
• Experience with popular switch/router platforms and ONTs, including Arista, Cisco, and Nvidia.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills are required.
• A motivated, hands-on, can-do attitude with the ability to devise innovative solutions under pressure.
