Field Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Provide technical assistance to customers during the application development and design-in phases.

• Evaluate customer requirements and suggest suitable technical solutions in collaboration with internal product and engineering teams.

• Resolve technical issues and assist with laboratory testing, validation, and the investigation of application-related challenges.

• Collaborate with Sales to identify technical opportunities and support design wins in key customer projects.

• Conduct technical presentations, workshops, and product training sessions for customers and distribution partners.

• Work alongside Product Management, R&D, and Quality teams to relay customer needs and aid in product and technology advancement.

• Track technical opportunities, assist with customer follow-ups, and disseminate application knowledge throughout the EMEA region.

• Travel across the EMEA region to support customer initiatives, technical meetings, and training sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related engineering field.

• A minimum of 5–7 years of pertinent engineering experience in Field Application Engineering, Application Engineering, Design Engineering, or a comparable technical position.

• Experience with power semiconductors is a must.

• Strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems and active components.

• Capability to comprehend system architecture, technical specifications, and customer application needs.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to technical troubleshooting and validation.

• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to both engineering and commercial audiences.

• Customer-focused mindset and eagerness to collaborate closely with customers and Sales teams.

• Candidates transitioning from design engineering should be comfortable in customer-facing roles.

• Proficiency in English is required.

• Willingness to travel approximately 50–60% within the EMEA region.
