Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Offer scientific and technical application support to clients and sales teams.

• Execute product demonstrations, presentations, and training sessions for customers.

• Resolve issues related to instrumentation, applications, and workflows.

• Assist customers with the implementation, adoption, and optimization of Agilent products and solutions.

• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, R&D, and clients to meet technical requirements and relay customer feedback.

• Establish robust customer relationships and ensure an exceptional customer experience.

• Travel regularly to client locations for installations, training, troubleshooting, and sales assistance.

• Typically travel occurs from Monday through Friday.

• Act as a trusted technical advisor in a customer-centric field role.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a comparable scientific discipline.

• 1-2+ years of experience in laboratory work, applications, technical support, field service, or customer-facing scientific roles.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to varied audiences.

• Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• A customer-oriented mindset with a consultative approach.

• Capability to work independently and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively (75-85%) to support client sites.

• Experience in supporting scientific instrumentation or laboratory-based technologies.

• Strong comprehension of laboratory workflows, instrumentation, and data analysis.

• Experience in conducting product demonstrations, customer training, or technical presentations.

• Previous experience in applications, field-based, or customer-facing technical support roles.

• Ability to cultivate strong customer relationships and act as a trusted technical advisor.

• Experience collaborating with Sales, Marketing, R&D, or other cross-functional teams to enhance customer success.

• Must be comfortable managing extensive travel schedules and working independently in new customer environments.
