FHIR R4 Interoperability Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design FHIR R4 services in accordance with US Core, which includes CapabilityStatements, profiles, and implementation guides.

• Take ownership of SMART Backend Services authorization patterns and manage the FHIR conformance test plan utilizing Inferno.

• Translate legacy HL7 v2 and SOAP payloads to FHIR by employing the HL7 V2-to-FHIR implementation guide.

• Operate HAPI FHIR in a production environment alongside the platform team, concentrating on performance, versioning, and data quality.

• Present standards-related decisions during program increment planning and Government technical reviews.

• Assist in the transition from SOAP services to FHIR while ensuring the continuity of legacy exchanges around the clock.

• Represent the program’s standards decisions to Government stakeholders.

• Collaborate with the interface team to maintain HL7 v2 feeds.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in healthcare interoperability.

• At least 3 years of experience working with FHIR R4 in a production setting.

• Practical experience with US Core profiling, CapabilityStatements, and authoring implementation guides.

• Familiarity with SMART on FHIR and SMART Backend Services.

• Experience in running HAPI FHIR or a comparable FHIR server in a production environment.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.

• Capability to obtain and sustain the investigation required by the Government for this position.

• Active Secret clearance or eligibility for Secret clearance (preferred).

• Experience with HL7 v2.x interfaces, including Z-segments (preferred).

• Experience with OMOP common data model or OHDSI tooling (preferred).

• Background in DoD or VA health IT (preferred).
