Family Support Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with caregivers as a peer, leveraging personal experience to foster trust and inspire hope.

• Encourage family involvement in the program.

• Assist families in initiating their journey, attending appointments, and utilizing the Holon Vibe app.

• Reinforce the caregiver curriculum while promoting effective communication and problem-solving skills.

• Aid caregivers in navigating and advocating through schools, courts, child welfare systems, community resources, and behavioral health providers.

• Support caregivers in identifying natural supports and establishing family objectives within the care plan.

• Coordinate with the Holon care team, primary care provider, and case manager.

• Identify concerns early and ensure the family remains at the forefront of the plan.

• Document participation and progress within the platform.

• Maintain guardian consent, youth privacy, and compliance with rules regarding voluntary participation, engagement-based rewards, and prohibitions against inducements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Personal experience as a biological, adoptive, foster, or authorized relative caregiver of a child or youth facing emotional, behavioral, mental health, substance use, or developmental challenges.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• High school diploma or GED is required.

• Tennessee Certified Family Support Specialist (CFSS) credential is preferred, or eligibility and willingness to obtain it within 12 months of hire.

• A National Federation of Families Certified Family Peer Specialist (CFPS) credential is considered equivalent.

• Minimum of 12 months of paid or volunteer experience in the past 10 years supporting families or navigating child-serving systems.

• Must be willing to work under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional.

• Completion of an approved evidence-based family education program, along with 90 days of role experience and Family Support Specialist Competency Training within 365 days for the CFSS pathway is required.

• Proficiency with telehealth, smartphone applications, and basic digital documentation.

• Must be a resident of Tennessee.

• Reliable transportation and the ability to make occasional community or field visits are needed.

• Ability to pass background checks required for working with minors and families is essential.

• Strong boundaries and cultural humility are expected.
