Family Medicine Physician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Assess clinical evaluations, medical records, and relevant documentation for designated cases

• Analyze the medical, developmental, behavioral, and functional requirements of children and adolescents aged 0–18

• Take into account information provided by members and their authorized healthcare decision-makers

• Formulate clear, evidence-based clinical recommendations backed by documented rationale

• Act as the primary clinical reviewer and validate assigned cases in line with the Division’s ECR process

• Utilize specified review templates and adhere to established documentation protocols

• Obtain discipline-specific consultation as needed

• Complete case reviews within 48 hours of assignment

• Ensure documentation is accurate, objective, confidential, and timely

• Employ sound clinical judgment when evaluating complex cases and reconciling information from various sources

⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution

• Valid, unrestricted Arizona medical license, or the capability to secure the required license prior to commencing work

• Board certification in Pediatrics or Family Medicine

• Comprehensive understanding of pediatric and adolescent development

• Exceptional clinical reasoning, analytical, and written communication abilities

• Proficiency in reviewing complex medical documentation and delivering clear clinical recommendations

• Capacity to meet strict deadlines and independently manage assigned cases

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (preferred)

• Background in addressing complex pediatric medical, developmental, or behavioral needs (preferred)

• Experience in clinical case review, utilization review, eligibility review, or medical necessity assessment (preferred)

• Familiarity with interdisciplinary clinical teams (preferred)

• Knowledge of Arizona DDD programs, policies, and documentation requirements (preferred)
