Facility Condition Assessor – Subject Matter Expert

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct and supervise assessments of facility conditions for federal properties.

• Collaborate with Facility Managers and project stakeholders prior to, during, and following site visits.

• Facilitate site briefings, project evaluations, and assessment activities.

• Review assessment documentation to ensure adherence to established standards.

• Maintain precise databases and records for facility condition assessments.

• Offer technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance to assessment teams.

• Train and mentor Facility Assessors and technicians on assessment methodologies and data collection techniques.

• Develop and implement optimal practices for facility assessments.

• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for clients and leadership.

• Identify opportunities for process enhancements and operational efficiencies.

• Assist with multi-site assessment projects, ensuring uniformity in data collection and reporting.

• Conduct field inspections at client facilities nationwide, which may involve travel and possible overnight stays.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate degree or higher in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline, or 5+ years of practical experience in facility condition assessments, building inspections, facilities management, construction inspection, or similar technical work.

• Proficiency in using facility assessment software, CMMS systems, ESMS platforms, or comparable facility management technologies.

• Strong knowledge of building systems, facility infrastructure, and asset management principles.

• Capability to analyze data and generate precise technical reports.

• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

• Capacity to work independently in a remote setting.

• Willingness and ability to travel frequently to project locations.

• Ability to walk, stand, climb ladders, and navigate active facilities and construction sites.

• Capability to access mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces as needed.

• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Proficient in performing detailed visual inspections and operating technical equipment.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

• Professional certifications related to facilities management, building inspections, asset management, or engineering are preferred.

• Experience in supporting federal government facilities programs is preferred.

• Previous experience in leading assessment teams or technical field personnel is preferred.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the US.

• US citizenship is required for the contract.
