Facility Condition Assessment Consultant – Electrical Surveyor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Review client documentation prior to and during inspections, encompassing drawings, reports, and maintenance records.

• Conduct visual inspections of building systems and equipment, including normal power, emergency power, lighting, vertical conveyance, and low-voltage systems.

• Assess system conditions using professional judgment and evaluate compliance with client standards and applicable codes.

• Collaborate with client facilities personnel to gain insights into operations, capital investments, and functional requirements.

• Utilize tablets and mobile data collection software to record findings with photographic documentation.

• Create replacement and corrective cost estimates utilizing CBRE Turner & Townsend cost libraries and vendor research.

• Record findings in asset management and capital planning software.

• Conduct individual quality assurance to confirm that findings are accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with project scope.

• Assist client inquiries by offering clarification and guidance regarding assessment findings.

• Travel alongside a team of professional assessors to evaluate facilities, including manufacturing sites, hospitals, airports, laboratories, and commercial buildings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

• Possess an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Facility Management, Construction Management, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in facility condition assessments or inspections, facility operations, building design or construction, property, or facilities management.

• Familiarity with relevant building codes and standards applicable to existing facilities.

• Experience in conducting quantity surveys and developing replacement cost estimates using RSMeans or similar datasets.

• Proficient in evaluating facility conditions and performing lifecycle analysis with corrective cost recommendations.

• Competent in using computers, mobile devices, and Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Word, Excel).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to prioritize critical tasks.

• Capability to walk and inspect large facilities and campuses for up to 8 hours a day.

• Ability to climb ladders and stairs, including accessing rooftop systems.

• Willingness and capability to travel approximately 50–70%, primarily within the U.S., with occasional international travel.

• Professional registrations or technical certifications are preferred.

• Multi-discipline knowledge, including architectural, structural, mechanical (HVAC and plumbing), electrical, and/or site utilities is preferred.

• Experience in conducting ASHRAE Level 1 and 2 energy audits is preferred.

• Government clearance where applicable is preferred.

• A valid driver’s license is preferred.
