This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop, execute, and sustain sophisticated animation systems and tools that enhance generative models for lifelike character movements.
• Collaborate with machine learning researchers, engineers, animators, and game designers to establish and attain superior animation features and workflow enhancements.
• Optimize and troubleshoot animation code and systems for user-friendliness, performance, memory efficiency, and stability across various target platforms.
• Prototype innovative animation methods, including procedural generation and physics-based systems.
• Guide junior programmers and engage in code reviews, ensuring adherence to high standards of code quality and documentation.
• Partner with lead engineers to strategize project milestones and deliver top-notch work within set timelines.
• Over 7 years of experience in game programming, focusing on character animation systems.
• Strong expertise in C++ along with experience in performance optimization.
• Comprehensive knowledge of real-time 3D animation principles, kinematics (IK/FK), and rigging systems.
• Excellent mathematical skills, especially in linear algebra and vector mathematics.
• Experience with large-scale game engines such as Unreal Engine, Unity, or proprietary engines (preferably Unreal Engine).
• Familiarity with generative models and machine learning is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of Motion Matching, procedural animation techniques, and physics simulation is a plus but not essential.
• Comfort with animation pipelines and DCC tools (Maya, Blender) is a bonus but not required.
• Previous experience in shipping a AAA title is preferable but not required.
• Understanding of parallel programming and GPU optimization techniques (e.g., CUDA, compute shaders) is a bonus but not required.
