This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Prepare and review both federal and state individual income tax returns.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of client documentation and tax records.
• Conduct interviews with clients to gather necessary tax documentation.
• Adhere to IRS due diligence requirements and tax preparation standards.
• Safeguard the confidentiality of taxpayer information.
• Keep clients informed about the status of their returns, documentation needs, and filing requirements.
• Verify that returns are accurate and complete prior to submission.
• Maintain an active EFIN and comply with relevant IRS requirements.
• Assist in managing client workflows and tax season operations.
• Participate in mandatory training, compliance updates, and tax season meetings.
• Develop and manage a personal portfolio of tax clients.
• Formulate strategies to attract new clients and boost tax return volume.
• Market the tax business through networking, marketing initiatives, and community involvement.
• Identify opportunities to enhance services and grow revenue.
• Create a plan aimed at long-term business growth and client retention.
• Recruit and build a team of tax preparers.
• Offer leadership, guidance, and support throughout the tax season.

• Represent the tax business and Polished Financial with professionalism.

• Continue evolving as a tax professional, leader, and business owner.
• An active IRS Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN) is required.
• A valid PTIN is required.
• Prior experience in individual income tax preparation.
• Understanding of federal and state tax filing requirements.
• Familiarity with tax preparation software.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Outstanding communication and client service abilities.
• Capability to work independently and meet deadlines during tax season.
