Executive Director, Project Management – RWE & Phase IV Studies

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead a worldwide team of project management experts.

• Manage operational delivery, financial performance, quality outcomes, and client satisfaction within the RWE and Phase IV project management portfolio.

• Propel business growth, enhance portfolio profitability, ensure delivery excellence, facilitate strategic resource allocation, and encourage cross-functional collaboration.

• Oversee the RWE and Phase IV project management Profit & Loss (P&L) and meet financial goals, including profitable growth and market expansion.

• Evaluate research operations performance based on client satisfaction, quality, and financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

• Promote competitive pricing through appropriate resourcing models.

• Collaborate with Proposals, Commercial, and Finance leadership on budget tools, bid and pricing evaluations, resource allocation, and delivery strategies.

• Build and nurture a high-performing leadership team, focusing on talent development and succession planning.

• Advocate for financial stewardship, budget management, forecasting, and delivery excellence among project managers.

• Collaborate with senior leaders in Clinical Operations, Commercial, Finance, Quality, and other departments.

• Supervise the quality, performance, and success of projects across the portfolio.

• Implement risk management practices and utilize project tools, templates, and performance reporting.

• Foster high client satisfaction, encourage repeat business, and support portfolio expansion.

• Identify and guide department and company initiatives.

• Assist in bid defenses, portfolio planning, and management of strategic accounts.

• Report directly to the VP of RWE and Phase IV Studies.

• Travel as necessary for client meetings, site visits, company engagements, and training events.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong financial acumen and a proven track record of financial stewardship success at a P&L (preferred) or portfolio level.

• Experience with RWE and Phase IV delivery resourcing models and budget formulation.

• Demonstrated team leadership capabilities and staff development experience.

• Outstanding presentation skills suitable for all levels, including executive leadership.

• Involvement in strategic planning initiatives.

• Extensive knowledge of the clinical development landscape and ICH GCP, particularly in RWE and Phase IV.

• Advanced organizational and time management skills.

• Sound judgment in high-pressure or ambiguous scenarios.

• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in life sciences.

• At least 12 years of relevant clinical research experience in a pharmaceutical company or CRO.

• Minimum of 8 years of full project management responsibility.

• At least 6 years of supervisory experience.

• PMP or certification in clinical research is preferred.

• Ability to access and utilize both in-house and commercially available software.

• Consistent and regular attendance is required.

• Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary.

• Ability to travel 20%–30% of the time.

• Capable of fulfilling the specified physical demands, including stationary work, repetitive hand movements, bending/twisting, and lifting 15–20 lbs.
