This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Offer specialized knowledge in evaluation concepts and methodologies.
• Keep an updated understanding of established evaluation frameworks and guidelines.
• Co-direct and design capacity-building and technical assistance strategies for program grantees.
• Consult, collaborate, and mentor grantees to enhance their program evaluation skills.
• Deliver customized technical support on evaluation plans, inquiries, frameworks, and data collection tools.
• Supervise and facilitate the gathering and analysis of program evaluation data in accordance with project work plans.
• Review and give written feedback on evaluation outputs.
• Manage performance and impact evaluations for the capacity-building initiative.
• Represent the CDC Foundation and project team at partnership events.
• Engage in or lead special projects and other assigned responsibilities.
• Travel for in-person training sessions, site visits, partner meetings, conferences, and dissemination activities.
• Assist in designing internal evaluation plans, conducting internal evaluations, and translating data into actionable strategies for ongoing improvement.
• Collaborate with CDC subject matter experts, CDC Foundation project personnel, and funded organizations serving veterans.
• Master’s degree in public health, public administration, community development, program measurement & evaluation, public policy, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of pertinent experience in monitoring and evaluation, focusing on integrating evidence into upstream public health initiatives.
• Strong preference for experience in suicide prevention and/or working with military and veteran populations.
• Proven experience in developing logic models, identifying indicators, designing and implementing data collection tools and processes, and producing evaluation reports.
• Capability to conduct evaluations from inception to completion, including stakeholder engagement, program definition, evaluation design, evidence collection, and conclusions.
• Expertise in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methodologies, along with monitoring best practices.
• Familiarity with the CDC Framework for Program Evaluation in Public Health and the American Evaluation Association's Guiding Principles for Evaluators.
• Experience in managing or overseeing capacity-building initiatives, technical assistance, or providing guidance through appropriate training and engagement with grantees.
• Ability to engage with, listen to, and learn from a diverse range of evaluation stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills to clearly convey evaluation strategies and implications to non-technical audiences.
• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and project management abilities.
• Creativity, problem-solving skills, initiative, collaboration, and the capacity to work both independently and within teams.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with remote partners and teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently under competing deadlines.
