This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Develop and nurture client relationships to secure and oversee project scope, timeline, budget, and delivery.
• Direct projects that include technical guidance, planning, design, permitting, and occasional construction phase services.
• Engage with clients, prospective clients, owners, regulators, and regulatory bodies.
• Assist in business development through proposals, project interviews, and marketing initiatives.
• Oversee and manage projects utilizing both technical and administrative personnel.
• Lead and execute technical project responsibilities.
• Create permit applications, conduct regulatory assessments, develop compliance plans, prepare Tier II reports, and produce related documentation.
• Choose, coordinate, and oversee subcontractors.
• Conduct cost estimations and manage project scope, timeline, and budget effectively.
• Generate reports and communicate with project staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Engage in programs aimed at enhancing delivery systems and opportunities for continuous learning.
• 7 to 10+ years of professional experience with an environmental or engineering consulting firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or environmental engineering from an accredited institution.
• Experience collaborating with railroad clients.
• A strong dedication to safe work practices is essential.
• Client-oriented with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Experience in scoping, budgeting, and executing complex permitting and compliance programs.
• Knowledge of railroad regulatory programs throughout northeastern and midwestern states.
• Capability to work autonomously and within large multidisciplinary teams.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven leadership abilities with a focus on mentoring and developing a project team.
• OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour and Railway Worker training are advantageous.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, primarily within the local area.
