This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist ODASA(ESOH) and Army initiatives aimed at achieving an unmodified audit opinion.
• Document, monitor, analyze, and enhance activities related to the completeness, accuracy, and reliability of Army financial data concerning Environmental and Disposal Liabilities.
• Aid staff in adhering to timelines for audit deliverables and associated tasks.
• Keep current audit documentation and tools updated in Microsoft Teams.
• Propose process and documentation improvements in alignment with audit requirements.
• Evaluate assets, essential supporting documentation, and system records.
• Support accounting and financial reporting operations, standardization initiatives, analyses, data calls, and the compilation of financial statement information.
• Generate reports, in-progress reviews, metrics, dashboards, and status updates.
• Create presentations and briefings and actively participate in program meetings.
• Contribute to deliverables, reporting metrics, and training initiatives.
• Review work products to ensure technical accuracy, formatting, and quality in accordance with Army standards, including AR 25-50.
• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, economics, information systems, environmental science/management, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in supporting financial-statement audits, FIAR/audit remediation, internal controls, federal financial reporting, and/or environmental liabilities.
• Experience in reviewing assets, system records, and essential supporting documentation, as well as assisting staff in meeting audit deliverable timelines.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to prepare briefings, metrics, and reports that align with Army standards, including AR 25-50.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Skilled in PowerPoint and Word.
• Experience in maintaining controlled documentation within Microsoft Teams or comparable platforms.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization.
• Eligibility to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.
• Familiarity with DoD/Army financial audit guidelines, including DoD FMR, FIAR, GAAP/FASAB, SFFAS 5 and 6, Technical Releases 2 and 11, ICOFR, GAGAS, and OMB circulars.
• Understanding of Inventory & Related Property standards, including SFFAS 3 and 48 and SSAE 18, if applicable.
• Direct experience with Environmental and Disposal Liabilities.
• Background in Army environmental cleanup programs, including CERCLA, RCRA, and DERP.
• Experience in cost-to-complete or liability estimate support.
• Familiarity with responding to IPA/auditor requests, NFRs, and data calls.
• Proficient with SharePoint, Power BI, Visio, Approvals, and related Microsoft 365 tools.
• CPA, CGFM, CDFM, or equivalent certification is preferred.
