Enterprise Security Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team of security engineers focused on threat modeling, deploying security tools, providing internal security services, and shaping the security strategy.

• Take ownership of Canva’s internal security strategy, ensuring a balance between security, compliance, and developer experience.

• Mentor and develop engineers through consistent, actionable feedback.

• Manage team workflows, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Collaborate with IT, Sales, Customer Support, and other partner groups to implement scalable security enhancements.

• Promote the internal adoption of security systems and advocate for their advantages.

⛳️ Requirements

• Capability to develop an access strategy that balances usability, security, and compliance needs.

• Previous experience in managing and nurturing high-performing teams.

• Demonstrated ability to threat model intricate systems, pinpoint security risks, create mitigation strategies with engineering teams, and execute them effectively.

• Proven track record of collaborating with external stakeholder teams like IT and Procurement to provide secure SaaS solutions.

• Solid understanding of internal IT environments and the broader security landscape.

• Familiarity with zero trust, IDPs, SSPM, MDMs, password managers, and related technologies.

• Ability to manage large, complex projects across various groups, set completion criteria, monitor metrics, and communicate effectively at the company level.

• Beneficial: proficiency in Python, Golang, or Java, with the capacity to mentor others.

• Beneficial: experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.

• Beneficial: knowledge of identity management technologies including MFA, SAML, WebAuthn, and Okta.

• Beneficial: understanding of SOC2, ISO27001, and GDPR.
