Enterprise Risk Management Lead

📋 Description

• Assist in the implementation of the organization’s enterprise risk management framework.

• Initiate and enhance enterprise risk management processes on an ongoing basis.

• Perform intricate risk analyses, reporting, and provide advisory support to senior management and internal stakeholders.

• Facilitate the annual ERM planning cycle and establish risk priorities, assessment tasks, reporting expectations, and governance schedules.

• Oversee enterprise risks, including ownership, escalation paths, mitigation strategies, approval conditions, and follow-up requirements.

• Identify and assess emerging risks associated with generative AI, machine learning, autonomous systems, data, cybersecurity, models, third parties, and technology infrastructure.

• Manage risk intake and assessment for enterprise initiatives and AI applications.

• Coordinate risk reviews across various departments including ERM, Compliance, Legal, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Model Governance, Data Governance, Enterprise Architecture, technology teams, and business partners.

• Establish appropriate governance review pathways based on risk materiality.

• Evaluate safeguards, human oversight, control effectiveness, residual risk, evidence gaps, and control deficiencies.

• Create risk reports, analyses, dashboards, executive briefings, and strategic recommendations.

• Prepare risk materials for the Board and committees, including quarterly updates for the Audit Committee and annual reports for the full Board.

• Support enterprise AI governance leadership and coordinate the cross-functional AI Council.

• Draft conditions for risk acceptance, escalation recommendations, decision records, and practical guidance.

• Develop and maintain enterprise risk and AI governance policies, procedures, standards, playbooks, templates, risk tiers, intake criteria, review methods, and control documentation.

• Address external ERM compliance, information, and reporting obligations.

• Foster clear risk ownership, consistent governance practices, reusable evidence, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Over 6 years of demonstrated experience in risk management, insurance, financial analysis, actuarial science, underwriting, product management, or related fields.

• Prior experience in Enterprise Risk Management is highly preferred.

• Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving competencies.

• Experience with operational, product, and financial metrics and models, including result analysis.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with personnel ranging from end users to executive management.

• Capacity to influence outcomes with or without formal authority.

• Proficient in constructing business case scenarios.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Familiarity with CSAA IG business strategy.

• Comprehensive actuarial skillset with a deep understanding of pricing, reserving, ERM, statutory accounting, and risk-return concepts.

• Relevant certifications are preferred, such as ARM, ARe, CPCU, FRM, or ACAS.

• Must possess authorization to work indefinitely in the United States.

• CSAA does not offer visa sponsorship.

• Willingness to travel as necessary, including for divisional/team meetings and other in-person engagements.
