This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide comprehensive support for the Common App’s enterprise compliance program.

• Collaborate with the Legal team and organizational leadership to implement compliance programs in a sustainable and consistent manner.

• Assist in the operational and administrative aspects of enterprise compliance and risk programs.

• Manage policy oversight and track regulatory deadlines.

• Prepare cases for the fraud and whistleblower programs.

• Act as a primary liaison for internal legal and compliance inquiries.

• Engage with departments, leadership, and external advisors to enhance governance and mitigate risk.

• Report directly to the Associate General Counsel.


⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must reside in the United States.

• Willingness to travel for the biannual Common App Retreat.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Risk Management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 4–6 years of relevant experience in compliance, risk management, or legal operations.

• Strong foundational knowledge in conducting investigations, compliance, and administrative procedures.

• Solid business and legal acumen with sound judgment and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

• Extensive administrative experience, including request intake, email review and management, data entry, and task tracking and management.

• Capacity to take initiative, prioritize, and effectively manage competing tasks in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to concisely summarize complex issues.

• Experience with case management, due diligence, and communication.

• Proficiency in preparing and developing reports, presentations, and briefings for leadership.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.

• Ability to think independently, identify deficiencies, and propose solutions.

• High level of discretion, judgment, and commitment to confidentiality.

• Capability to interpret significant themes from quantitative and qualitative data and handle confidential or sensitive information.

• Ability to communicate complex financial data and concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

• Ideal candidates will have compliance or risk management certifications such as CCEP, CFE, CRM, or RIMS-CRMP.

• Ideal candidates will have experience supporting Legal in nonprofit, technology, or higher education sectors.

• Ideal candidates will have experience in a fast-paced legal environment.

• Ideal candidates will show sensitivity to corporate compliance functions and the ability to balance administrative and substantive work.

• Ideal candidates will possess effective presentation skills in one-on-one, small-group, and large-group settings.

• A passion for higher education is an advantageous quality.
