This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop a team of backend and full-stack engineers.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, establish clear objectives, and offer constructive feedback.
• Manage team performance, including calibration processes and challenging discussions.
• Collaborate with Product to define and prioritize platform and integration initiatives.
• Provide guidance on architectural decisions for scalable APIs, backend services, and microservices that support third-party trading platform integrations.
• Review pull requests, contribute to design documentation, and assist engineers in overcoming difficult challenges.
• Take ownership of delivery through sprint planning, progress monitoring, and making realistic commitments to a live production environment.
• Enhance code quality, testing standards, and CI/CD methodologies.
• Ensure production reliability and observability, and lead incident response efforts.
• Contribute to the development of engineering standards and recruitment practices at Tradeify.
• Influence how the wider engineering team hires, integrates, and operates.
• Represent platform initiatives, constraints, and technical debt considerations in cross-functional planning.
• Report directly to the CTO.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, and other Engineering teams.
• Previous experience in managing or leading engineering teams, along with hands-on engineering expertise.
• Background in full-stack or backend engineering.
• Proficiency with React, Next.js, or Vue in frontend development.
• Experience with Python, Node.js, C#, or Go in backend development.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, WebSocket services, and third-party platform integrations.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, or MongoDB.
• Experience in operating production systems on AWS, GCP, or Azure with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Ability to manage and scale distributed systems that are already in production and support high loads.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to engage with non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in fintech, trading, or cryptocurrency sectors.
• Familiarity with real-time systems and event-driven architectures utilizing Kafka, NATS, or Pulsar.
• Exposure to TimescaleDB or ClickHouse.
• Experience in managing platform or infrastructure teams that support other internal product teams.
• Experience overseeing teams that utilize AI-assisted development tools on a daily basis.
• Must be available to work flexible hours to facilitate collaboration across time zones, including the U.S., if necessary.
