This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +5 more countries.
• Lead the team responsible for Testlio's fundamental platform capabilities utilized for planning, executing, and managing testing tasks.
• Take ownership of the technical direction and delivery for essential platform domains.
• Direct the design and implementation of agentic workflows that facilitate the planning, execution, and adaptation of testing activities.
• Allocate approximately 20–30% of your time to hands-on engineering, which includes writing production code, conducting critical-path code reviews, and developing technical designs.
• Establish multi-quarter technical direction in collaboration with the AI/ML team and product management.
• Integrate fragmented data models and modernize outdated services and data repositories.
• Manage roadmap sequencing and oversee technical delivery from initial concept to final production.
• Implement planning, prioritization, and design review practices.
• Take charge of production support, triage, escalations, root-cause analysis, automation, and implementing permanent fixes.
• Define service level objectives, create performance dashboards, and lead root-cause investigations.
• Ensure adherence to engineering standards, maintain traceability, uphold the Definition of Done, reduce defects, and control cloud costs.
• Mentor engineers, introduce AI-assisted development workflows, and mitigate knowledge silos through reviews and documentation.
• Report directly to the Director of Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years managing a team of 4 or more engineers in an agile, remote setting.
• Recent experience in writing production code and designing or evolving production systems.
• Proven experience in building LLM-powered or agentic features in production, or a strong ability to swiftly lead a team into new technical domains.
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, and React.
• Experience in designing and developing APIs.
• Familiarity with observability and APM tools such as New Relic, Datadog, or Sentry.
• Experience in optimizing slow database transactions.
• Knowledge of application security best practices and integrating security reviews into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience in modernizing legacy systems or addressing significant technical debt while maintaining product functionality.
• Fluency in English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative experience working with product management and cross-functional partners in a distributed, asynchronous environment.
