Engineering Manager – B2B SaaS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Lead and oversee software engineers within designated domain teams.

• Provide direct technical guidance and support.

• Conduct code evaluations and uphold engineering standards, coding conventions, documentation, code quality, and testing protocols.

• Mentor senior engineers and technical leads.

• Engage in technical design, architecture, and implementation discussions.

• Promote continuous enhancement in engineering practices, tools, and processes.

• Propel the usage of AI-driven coding tools to meet a targeted 60% increase in productivity.

• Advocate for AI coding technologies, offering training, mentorship, and best practices.

• Utilize JellyFish analytics to assess productivity, AI adoption, efficiency improvements, bottlenecks, enhancement goals, and ROI.

• Evaluate new AI coding tools and methodologies.

• Oversee the delivery of StoreForce SaaS application releases and hotfixes.

• Manage the planning, scheduling, coordination, hotfix prioritization, and deployment in collaboration with project managers and DevOps.

• Provide estimates for workload, effort, and delivery timelines.

• Identify and address delivery and quality risks.

• Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and develop engineering talent.

• Set objectives, track progress, and conduct performance evaluations.

• Foster a cohesive, high-performing distributed team culture.

• Own and continuously enhance the SDLC process.

• Drive down technical debt and improve system maintainability.

• Maintain and secure code repositories along with version control processes.

• Collaborate with Systems Architects, DevOps Managers, QA, Product, and Deployment teams.

• Report on delivery status, risks, and team performance to the VP of Engineering and Delivery.

• Resolve critical production issues in accordance with service level agreements.

• Lead post-mortem analyses and implement preventive actions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• 8–10 years of experience in software development.

• 5+ years in technical leadership or management positions.

• Hands-on experience with AI-powered coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Amazon CodeWhisperer, demonstrating measurable productivity gains.

• Proven ability to drive AI adoption within engineering teams and promote new practices.

• Experience with engineering productivity platforms like JellyFish or comparable analytics tools.

• Strong hands-on experience with .NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, Azure, and SQL Server.

• Proven ability to lead distributed teams across various locations and time zones.

• Experience in conducting code reviews and establishing engineering standards in production settings.

• In-depth knowledge of software testing practices, including unit testing and test automation.

• Experience managing the evolution of monolithic architecture and addressing technical debt.

• Proven success in delivering SaaS software releases in retail software or similar sectors.

• Significant experience with DevOps practices and Microsoft DevOps tools, including Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.

• Experience in managing remote and distributed teams is crucial.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences.
