This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, develop, and retain a team of analysts specializing in threat intelligence, fraud research, and detection engineering.
• Establish and implement the research agenda focusing on tracking threat actors, investigating fraud, defending the merchant ecosystem, and engineering automated detection systems.
• Offer technical expertise and analytical insight on intricate investigations, such as API key hijacking, account compromise operations, and KYC evasion techniques.
• Transform research outcomes into production-level detection rules, automated response strategies, and cross-departmental escalations.
• Work in partnership with Risk, Trust & Safety, Fraud Platform, and Security Engineering teams to convert abuse research into proactive safeguards for the platform.
• Liaise with external entities, including law enforcement, to disrupt and assign accountability to high-impact threat actors.
• Coach and mentor individual team members to foster their professional growth while upholding stringent technical standards.
• Over 10 years of experience in leading security engineering or research teams, with a proven history of managing technical individual contributors engaged in investigative, intelligence, or detection tasks.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience in the Security domain.
• Proven experience in recruiting, developing, and leading technical teams, including managing performance.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including the capability to create and present operational or incident-related information to leadership.
• Knowledge of fraud and abuse patterns specific to the payments and fintech sectors.
• Practical experience with threat intelligence methodologies: OSINT, dark web data collection, actor attribution, and engagement with structured intelligence frameworks (ATT&CK, STIX/TAXII, or similar).
