This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Ensure the successful execution and delivery of projects within engineering teams
• Oversee comprehensive technical planning and convert product requirements into actionable tasks
• Facilitate collaboration between engineers, product managers, QA, UX, and other stakeholders
• Take ownership of the complete delivery process across cross-functional teams within the product domain
• Assess requirements for technical feasibility and architectural coherence
• Create EPICs and technical user stories
• Refine, groom, and prioritize the backlog in collaboration with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Engineers
• Plan and execute sprint activities, including timelines, milestones, and dependencies
• Advocate for engineering processes and rituals
• Monitor team velocity and capacity, optimizing resource allocation as needed
• Manage cross-team dependencies and eliminate bottlenecks
• Provide guidance on design decisions, enforce sound design patterns, and engage in code reviews
• Ensure monitoring, alerting, and observability for the services under your ownership, meeting SLIs/SLOs
• Define, track, and report on post-release product metrics
• Uphold high technical standards and ensure project milestones are achieved
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• 8-10 years of experience in a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or a similar hands-on technical position
• Over 5 years of experience in building production systems utilizing Java and Spring Boot
• At least 3 years of experience in engineering leadership managing high-performing teams
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and iterative delivery
• Capable of translating complex product requirements into EPICs, user stories, and actionable tasks
• Robust backend engineering skills; familiarity with frontend technologies is advantageous
• Experience with project planning and tracking tools
• Knowledge of engineering and product health metrics and monitoring tools
• Proficient in debugging complex production issues, leading incident response, and performing blameless root cause analysis
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, release management, and related metrics
• Ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively
• Skills in risk management, dependency tracking, and stakeholder communication
• Proven track record of enhancing team velocity, delivery predictability, and engineering excellence
• Strong problem-solving, communication, adaptability, and attention to detail
• Experience in managing and mentoring engineers
• Ability to evaluate bandwidth and manage resource allocation
• Competence in conducting performance reviews and providing constructive feedback
• Capability to lead project status reviews and manage stakeholder expectations
