Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Lead a cross-functional team of 5–10 engineers specializing in backend, frontend, mobile, and QA.

• Assemble teams that deliver products providing value to hundreds of thousands of businesses across Europe.

• Collaborate with the Product Manager to refine problem framing and ensure the team addresses the correct challenges.

• Prioritize business outcomes, ROI, retention, conversion rates, and value-versus-effort assessments.

• Make informed technical decisions by weighing trade-offs and removing obstacles for the team as necessary.

• Balance the delivery of features with the management of technical debt and scalability while keeping up the pace of delivery.

• Conduct one-on-one meetings, develop growth plans, and oversee hiring and promotion processes.

• Foster engaged teams through constructive feedback and coaching.

• Enhance team productivity by implementing better tools, optimizing processes, and minimizing bottlenecks.

• Ensure predictable delivery in collaboration with Product and Design through proactive communication regarding priorities, risks, and constraints.

• Promote healthy discussions and embrace a disagree-and-commit approach to decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software development focused on building data-intensive production systems.

• Demonstrated history of leading cross-functional engineering teams successfully.

• Practical experience with at least one general-purpose programming language and platform: C#/.NET, Java/JVM, JavaScript/Node, or Go.

• Extensive technical knowledge of distributed architectures, databases, messaging, and queuing systems.

• Experience in product-led organizations, preferably with an international focus.

• Strong business insight linking engineering efforts to revenue, retention, and trust metrics.

• Familiarity with product metrics such as DAU/MAU, retention rates, and conversion funnels.

• Outstanding communication skills in English, adaptable to various audiences.

• A builder's mindset dedicated to delivering exceptional products and cultivating high-performing teams.

• Knowledge of backend technologies including .NET Core, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, and Kubernetes.

• Exposure to React, Swift/Kotlin, Python/ML frameworks, and modern QA tools.
