Engineering Manager – App Primitives

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and expand the App Primitives team, taking charge of hiring, team well-being, project delivery, and the growth of senior engineers and technical leaders.

• Own the strategic vision and roadmap for shared product primitives, which encompass comments infrastructure, notifications platform, event log, Statsig feature flag system, and task management.

• Define and oversee the interface model connecting App Primitives systems with product teams.

• Collaborate with product engineering leaders to identify developer requirements, pinpoint friction points, and prioritize investments.

• Establish the technical direction for a full-stack team that operates across data models, backend services, and UI primitives.

• Manage dependencies across teams and align stakeholder expectations while working autonomously across multiple workstreams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in engineering.

• More than 2 years of experience in managing engineering teams.

• Proven ability to develop senior engineers and technical leaders.

• Experience leading platform, shared services, or product infrastructure teams.

• Technical proficiency across the entire technology stack.

• In-depth knowledge of backend systems, shared data models, and API design.

• Experience working collaboratively with product, design, and engineering leaders.

• Successful track record of hiring senior engineers in a competitive landscape.

• Experience managing dependencies across multiple teams and delivering results in concurrent workstreams with minimal oversight.

• Utilizes AI in daily tasks to enhance skills and improve outcomes.
