This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Lead the planning for multi-year and annual maintenance and growth capital for designated sites/manufacturing PODs.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Food Safety & Quality, EHS, suppliers, FM Global, Roofing, PSM, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain, to prioritize maintenance budgets.
β’ Ensure that capital plans are feasible and that projects do not cause unexpected operational or service disruptions.
β’ Take ownership of the health, compliance, and execution of maintenance and growth initiatives across designated plants/manufacturing PODs.
β’ Guarantee safe construction practices and the compliant, effective installation of equipment.
β’ Guide site Engineering and Capital Project Managers on lean construction collaboration, quality, safety, cost, and delivery methods.
β’ Approve requests for project change-control and additional funding as necessary.
β’ Create portfolio status reports for Global and North American committees.
β’ Supervise and control ongoing construction work with the Fixed Asset team.
β’ Direct internal and external project teams from initial design through to vertical startup.
β’ Establish project budgets, timelines, frameworks, resources, and skill requirements.
β’ Lead submissions for Capital Appropriations Requests and advocate in front of capital investment committees.
β’ Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations for project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors.
β’ Formulate and implement strategies for project risk management.
β’ Maintain communication with project teams, governance teams, business partners, and stakeholders.
β’ Provide regular progress updates.
β’ Implement project and financial controls for change management, cost forecasting, productivity assessment, and invoice review/payment.
β’ Ensure commissioning and vertical startup align with the handover strategy and operational forecasts.
β’ Conduct audits and health checks, supporting KHMS updates with PMO and Global/International teams.
β’ Promote continuous improvement of capital project management activities and processes.
β’ Develop and disseminate best practices and KPIs for Capex Management and Total Cost of Ownership.
β’ Create and manage onboarding and training programs for site and network Engineering and Capital Project Managers.
β’ Identify cost-saving opportunities with plant teams and transform prioritized ideas into actionable projects.
β’ Manage, coach, and mentor both direct and indirect reports.
β’ Collaborate with Engineering, Technical Services, and HR on employee development and organizational change management.
β’ Ensure projects utilize suitable technical solutions while adhering to cost targets.
β’ Support Post Implementation Reviews.
β’ Work alongside Procurement on sourcing strategies, technical requirements, specifications, bidding, and bid evaluations.
β’ A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering institution or a related field is mandatory.
β’ Experience in engineering, project management, and/or technical leadership across multiple sites is essential.
β’ Previous experience in an in-plant technical role is preferred.
β’ PMP certification is highly desirable.
β’ Familiarity with strategic and annual capital planning is required.
β’ A strong background in process and packaging equipment for the food sector and/or plant facility engineering and maintenance is necessary.
β’ Knowledge of building construction and components, building utilities, mechanical and electrical systems, ammonia refrigeration systems, electrical control systems, computer applications, facility support equipment, and water and wastewater systems is crucial.
β’ Proven ability to lead/manage cross-functional teams on significant capital projects/programs valued at $20MM or more.
β’ Understanding of capital financial and manufacturing KPIs is essential.
β’ Capability to work within a matrix environment.
β’ Proficient knowledge of project management practices, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring/controlling, and closeout.
β’ Working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, and team building.
β’ Hands-on experience in negotiating and managing contracts and agreements with engineering contractors, vendors, regulatory bodies, and government agencies.
β’ Experience in interpreting architectural, mechanical, electrical, process, plumbing, structural, and fire construction drawings and specifications.
β’ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal abilities.
β’ Willingness to travel outside of the home state for extended periods, up to 50% of the time.
β’ Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision.
β’ Flexibility to work a varying schedule including days, afternoons, nights, and overtime as required.
β’ Capability to inspect sites, climb heights, traverse workspaces, and operate in noisy environments.
