Engineering Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead a team comprised of engineering managers, engineers, and energy analysts, ensuring accountability for budget management and strategic direction.

• Supervise the engineering components of contracts and proposals.

• Formulate engineering staffing plans on a regional scale.

• Provide technical guidance for projects within the designated territory, including evaluating impact assessment results.

• Ensure the execution of technical work is both timely and of high quality.

• Aid in business development and spearhead intricate business development initiatives.

• Enhance the capabilities of the engineering team and collaborate with other engineering divisions within the organization.

• Identify and address issues that may hinder long-term business objectives.

• Establish formal networks and act as an internal and external representative for the engineering team.

• Formulate strategies to enhance services and meet regional performance targets.

• Collaborate with regional program managers and directors to provide services to clients.

• Share resources collaboratively, develop tools, and tackle common challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must reside in one of the specified locations: Pennsylvania, Delaware, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Washington, D.C., Maryland, New York, New Jersey, or Virginia.

• A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience is required.

• At least 8 years of experience in managing engineering teams.

• A degree in Engineering is mandatory.

• A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.

• Must satisfy all relevant DOT qualification standards, if applicable.

• Compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations is essential.

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the country where the position is based without the need for employer sponsorship or support.

• Successful candidates will need to pass pre-employment checks.
