This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead strategic planning consulting initiatives, encompassing assessments of market, technology, and policy.
• Oversee and contribute to economic and cost analyses, risk evaluations, and contracting strategies for projects.
• Manage technical due diligence and owner’s engineering evaluations for energy and power initiatives.
• Offer program and project management support to clients, focusing on enhancing governance, business processes, controls, and stakeholder alignment.
• Collaborate with Sargent & Lundy’s technical teams to formulate conceptual plans that address client requirements.
• Develop and deliver project implementation strategies and plans to client executives and project teams.
• Convert complex technical findings into clear, client-ready presentations and detailed reports.
• Direct individual workstreams within broader client engagements.
• Coordinate daily tasks for junior team members, offer technical guidance, and manage hours while adhering to budget and scope.
• Enhance staff skills through training and mentorship.
• Participate in business development, proposal creation, and fostering client relationships.
• Assist clients in defining and executing strategies for power projects while improving operations across utility planning, new generation portfolio development, grid modernization, and new energy campus planning.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering (consideration may be given to other engineering disciplines or finance/economics).
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in the power sector.
• Proficiency and technical knowledge across various power generation technologies, inclusive of conventional and renewable sources.
• Experience in managing teams of engineers and/or consultants.
• Previous management consulting or advisory background with a consulting firm, advisory practice, or consulting role within an engineering firm or energy company, which includes direct client interaction and accountability for analytical outputs.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with electric or gas utilities, independent power producers, project developers, grid operators, or energy investors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with comfort in working with quantitative models, extensive data sets, and financial or economic analyses.
• Proven track record of producing clear, well-structured deliverables (Excel models, PowerPoint presentations, and written reports) and effectively communicating complex topics to non-technical audiences.
• Experience leading client meetings, workshops, or presentations; comfort in engaging directly with client stakeholders.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic, project-based consulting environment.
• High level of initiative, ownership, and accountability, with a history of delivering quality work products with minimal supervision.
• Valued but not required: expertise in technical due diligence and owner’s engineering design evaluations of power projects.
• Valued but not required: knowledge of power plant operations and performance, including key operational and financial metrics.
• Valued but not required: understanding of electric utility business models, planning processes, and operational practices.
• Valued but not required: experience with economic evaluations, cost analyses, and contract creation (e.g., PPAs, EPC contracts, O&M agreements).
