Electrical Technical Reviewer – Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Review completed Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and other electrical certifications submitted by engineers.

• Ensure that inspection records, circuit details, and test measurements are accurately documented.

• Identify any missing information, unusual readings, and inconsistencies within the certificates.

• Evaluate electrical observations along with their corresponding classification codes.

• Verify reports against the applicable standards of UK BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.

• Analyze supporting photographs and site information when available.

• Coordinate with electricians to correct reporting errors or acquire additional information.

• Raise technical issues to the client's UK technical management team.

• Evaluate remedial work indicated in electrical inspection reports.

• Estimate the materials and labor needed to complete the proposed work.

• Create detailed quotations using company-approved pricing structures.

• Enter and oversee quotations through Xero.

• Ensure quotations accurately represent the required work and are issued within agreed timelines.

• Manage the progression of electrical certificates from submission to final technical approval.

• Communicate with field engineers and the UK office regarding any outstanding information.

• Update job records and documentation within ServiceM8.

• Maintain organized records of certificates, technical inquiries, and remedial quotations.

• Support the management team with technical administration and compliance-related tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior hands-on electrical experience or significant experience in an electrical technical position.

• A recognized electrical qualification, diploma, or equivalent practical training.

• Solid understanding of electrical installations, circuit protection, testing, and fault identification.

• Ability to interpret electrical inspection reports and test measurements effectively.

• Experience in identifying electrical faults and understanding appropriate remedial solutions.

• Strong attention to detail with the capability to work independently.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Confident computer skills.

• Previous roles as an electrician, electrical inspector, electrical supervisor, or electrical technician would be beneficial.

• Familiarity with British Standard BS 7671 is a plus.

• Experience with Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) is advantageous.

• Prior experience in checking electrical certificates or preparing electrical estimates is a plus.

• Knowledge of electrical materials, components, and installation labor requirements would be advantageous.

• Experience with job management or accounting software would be beneficial.

• Candidates must possess a solid electrical technical background.
