This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
β’ Establish the comprehensive monitoring vision and technical strategy for a fleet monitoring team that encompasses electrical systems and turbine controls/operability.
β’ Spearhead the design and ongoing enhancement of monitoring infrastructure, tools, dashboards, and analytical workflows.
β’ Deliver senior technical leadership throughout the entire monitoring lifecycle, from issue investigation and requirements definition to analytic deployment and continuous fleet monitoring.
β’ Manage complex, cross-domain fleet challenges involving electrical and controls/operability systems.
β’ Direct the development of monitoring specifications, diagnostic logic, and performance benchmarks for analytics.
β’ Collaborate with analytics and engineering teams to enhance monitoring capabilities and address fleet-wide concerns.
β’ Supervise the implementation of intervention strategies for identified fleet issues.
β’ Act as a representative of the monitoring function in discussions across teams and functions.
β’ Mentor and cultivate the technical skills of team members.
β’ Promote continuous improvement in monitoring methodologies, detection logic, and team processes.
β’ Collaborate with the team lead on prioritization, technical direction, and capability development without formal people-management responsibilities.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline, coupled with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
β’ Extensive experience in wind turbine systems, showcasing expertise across at least two of the following areas: electrical systems, turbine controls, or system-level operability.
β’ Proven track record in developing or overseeing fleet monitoring strategies, diagnostic methodologies, or condition-based monitoring programs.
β’ Strong familiarity with SCADA data, turbine alarms/events, and operational data analysis methods.
β’ Demonstrated ability to convert complex technical data into clear, prioritized, and actionable monitoring strategies.
β’ Experience collaborating cross-functionally with data/analytics teams, engineering teams, and field/service organizations.
β’ Excellent technical communication skills, capable of effectively conveying findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
β’ Proven ability to mentor and foster the development of less experienced engineers.
