This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.
• Provide continuous remote assistance to a law firm based in West Virginia
• Offer substantial litigation support and help with paperwork related to elder law cases and client communications
• Execute court filings
• Review and organize case documents
• Communicate with opposing counsel
• Proactively manage the progress of cases
• Aid in the procedural elements of ongoing litigation matters
• Complete forms and documentation related to non-litigation issues
• Engage directly and professionally with clients
• Independently monitor assignments and deadlines
• Provide consistent and reliable assistance to a solo attorney
• Handle a comprehensive range of tasks, including litigation duties, paperwork, forms, and client communication
• At least 5 years of experience in a law firm as a Paralegal
• Strong, direct experience as a litigation paralegal
• Experience in elder law, probate, personal injury, or general civil litigation will be valued
• Ability to deliver litigation support, including court filings, organizing case materials, communicating with opposing counsel, and ensuring matters progress
• Experience in assisting with procedural aspects of active litigation cases
• Willingness and capability to manage both substantive litigation tasks and routine paperwork and forms
• Familiarity with completing forms and documentation for non-litigation matters
• Comfortable engaging directly and professionally with clients
• Strong organizational and case management skills with the ability to independently track assignments and deadlines
• Must be comfortable working remotely and largely independently while supporting a solo attorney
• Ability to take ownership of tasks and provide consistent, reliable support with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work
• Must have approximately 10+ hours per week of current availability, with the potential to increase hours as the firm's needs expand
• Experience in West Virginia legal matters is preferred but not mandatory
• Prior experience in elder law, estate/probate, or personal injury litigation is preferred
• Experience supporting a solo attorney or small law firm is advantageous
