E&I Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Take charge of cost estimating for bids and project proposals, pinpointing risks, opportunities, and ensuring a successful strategy.

• Develop comprehensive estimates aligned with the scope of work, blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documents.

• Conduct quantity take-offs to ascertain manpower, equipment needs, material items, and subcontractors.

• Request quotes from material and equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and designated manufacturers.

• Distribute and manage bid documents effectively.

• Create construction schedules.

• Identify unique requirements for weather protection, cranes, hoists, temporary facilities, and services or other indirect costs associated with projects.

• Confirm that all bid forms are properly filled out and executed.

• Review labor costs and relevant licensing requirements.

• Organize and facilitate bid review meetings with the Division Manager, Estimating Manager, and/or business line management to finalize bids, markups, and strategies.

• Collaborate with colleagues during the bidding process for large proposals.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation estimating.

• Experience with competitive bids up to $20M in petrochemical, gas processing, refining, and other heavy industrial sectors.

• Preferred background in Electrical and Instrumentation field experience.

• Advanced understanding of estimating strategies and techniques.

• Capability to develop estimates with incomplete information.

• Comprehensive knowledge of construction industry practices, processes, and standards, and their influence on project activities.

• Familiarity with estimating software programs.

• Willingness to travel occasionally.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with interpersonal abilities.
