Education Software Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Participate when clients purchase new software or enhance their use of IRIS Education products.

• Challenge ambiguous requirements and identify gaps, risks, and dependencies in collaboration with Sales and Pre-Sales teams.

• Investigate customers' objectives, operations, data, and constraints through targeted discovery discussions.

• Create comprehensive Statements of Work that outline deliverables, milestones, assumptions, responsibilities, and exclusions.

• Balance ambition with practicality by clarifying effort, sequencing, and risk prior to finalizing the scope.

• Provide project teams with a structured handover to facilitate seamless delivery without redundant discovery.

• Enhance knowledge across the education software portfolio.

• Assist in developing reusable scoping templates and guidance.

• Collaborate with Sales, Pre-Sales colleagues, and specialists who design and implement customer solutions.

• Define the approach for this new independent role.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in gathering and challenging business requirements, translating them into clear scope and deliverables.

• Proficient in writing Statements of Work, proposals, scoping documents, or similar contractual documentation.

• Strong writing skills with attention to detail regarding assumptions, dependencies, and exclusions.

• Commercial awareness of how scope, effort, and risk impact cost, timelines, and deliverability.

• Experience in software sales, implementation, or consulting delivery teams, either directly or in collaboration.

• Confidence in engaging with customers and senior stakeholders, particularly when resetting expectations.

• Willingness to learn a diverse software portfolio.

• Experience in education technology is beneficial but not mandatory.

• Background in pre-sales, bids, software implementation, or relevant business analysis and project delivery qualifications is advantageous.
