📋 Description

• Review and assess fiction submissions with guidance from a senior editor.

• Create succinct reader reports that summarize the manuscripts’ premises, strengths, areas needing improvement, and alignment with the Hay House fiction catalog.

• Conduct research on comparable titles, authors, and pertinent fiction trends.

• Maintain records of submissions and editorial files.

• Assist in preparing materials for editorial meetings.

• Engage in discussions regarding fiction submissions and the overall publishing process.

• Provide support to the editorial team with administrative and project-related tasks as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in English Literature, Creative Writing, Publishing, or a related discipline.

• Strong passion for commercial genre fiction, including romantasy, romantic fantasy, romance, cozy mysteries, fairytale and myth retellings, as well as healing or speculative fiction.

• Exceptional reading comprehension and written communication abilities.

• Capability to form insightful opinions on manuscripts and convey feedback clearly and respectfully.

• Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Proficient in managing deadlines and completing assignments.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A curious mindset and a willingness to learn about the publishing industry.

• Candidates must either reside in or be open to relocating to an eligible U.S. state.
