This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Assume editorial oversight for Aquaculture Research as well as an additional journal within Wiley’s aquaculture collection.

• Lead strategic initiatives to enhance the profile and visibility of the journals.

• Engage new authors and generate compelling content.

• Involve yourself in the peer review process and manuscript decision-making.

• Ensure the implementation of best publishing practices and the highest ethical standards.

• Foster content acquisition and submission growth within the aquaculture and ecology portfolio.

• Develop journals from both scientific and publishing perspectives.

• Build and maintain networks with authors, peer reviewers, and editorial board members.

• Act as a representative of Wiley and the aquaculture portfolio at conferences and through outreach to universities and research institutes.

• Contribute to editorial assessment, peer review, and decision-making processes for submitted manuscripts.

• Collaborate with managers and colleagues to cultivate a culture of trust, respect, and high performance.


⛳️ Requirements

• PhD in Aquaculture, Fisheries Science, Aquatic Ecology, Aquatic Animal Health and/or Nutrition, or a related discipline.

• Strong research background.

• Comprehensive understanding of recent trends and advancements in the field.

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

• Innovative and flexible problem-solving approach.

• Capability to work collaboratively and achieve outcomes through personal influence and engagement.

• Self-motivated with a diplomatic and adaptable mindset.

• Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.

• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.

• Solid understanding of scientific publishing, including commissioning and peer review processes.

• Previous experience in the publishing industry is highly preferred.

• Interest in science communication and open research initiatives.

• Confidence in presenting and advocating for journal portfolios.

• Willingness to travel as needed.
