EDI Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Collect and submit both inbound and outbound data

• Receive and dispatch files to and from various vendors on a daily basis

• Process 837 files and convert .txt formats

• Prepare and transfer files into the internal programming system for processing and payment

• Encrypt and decrypt files as necessary

• Execute queries in Access

• Generate and analyze reports in Excel

• Carry out eligibility matching using enrollee and member demographics from the internal master database

• Accurately route completed claims to internal mailboxes within specified timelines

• Provide training to EDI Coordinators on new and revised workflows and procedures

• Interpret and clarify procedures for EDI Coordinators

• Perform internal audits of the department, including both staff and external vendors

• Manage departmental projects while ensuring assigned workflows remain on track

• Address complex departmental issues with support from other departments, staff, or vendors

• Offer EDI support to external trading partners and internal personnel

• Handle failed transactions and rectify missing acknowledgments

• Carry out additional duties as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory

• Data entry proficiency of 6,000 keystrokes per hour with high accuracy

• Intermediate skills in Word, Excel, and Access

• Strong problem-solving abilities

• Solid analytical skills

• Capacity to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team

• Keen attention to detail and precision

• Reliable cable broadband or fiber optic internet connection with a minimum of 100 Mbps download and 25 Mbps upload speed

• Willingness to work extended hours at a desk and on a computer
