EA – Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate on-site or remotely with client organizations to gain insights into workflows and pinpoint opportunities for agentic AI automation.

• Facilitate workflow discovery sessions, map processes, identify pain points, and collaboratively develop prioritized roadmaps.

• Create and construct agentic skills utilizing NGP VAN and the NGP VAN Interface.

• Oversee the entire skill delivery lifecycle, from gathering requirements to design, development, testing, deployment, and iteration.

• Provide guidance to client staff and leadership on AI concepts, expectations, and change management.

• Contribute features and enhancements to the NGP VAN Interface MCP-based integration layer.

• Identify gaps in NGP VAN API coverage and assist in API expansion efforts.

• Document skill designs, deployment patterns, and reusable components.

• Consolidate client insights into product feedback, roadmap input, and engineering priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in professional software engineering or product management.

• Proven track record of independently building and shipping production-quality software.

• Experience with LLM APIs, agentic frameworks, and/or MCP-based tooling.

• Expertise in back-end or full-stack development using Python, Node.js, or .NET.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, including both consumption and design.

• Experience in client-facing roles, facilitating discovery sessions and managing stakeholder expectations.

• Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day management oversight.

• Familiarity with Democratic campaigns, progressive nonprofits, and/or political technology.

• Willingness and ability to travel on-site to engage with customer organizations.

• Must not require current or future employment authorization sponsorship in the United States.

• Preferred: Direct experience with NGP VAN or EveryAction products.

• Preferred: Background as a forward-deployed engineer, solutions engineer, or technical implementation consultant.

• Preferred: Experience or training in product management.

• Preferred: Experience in building MCP servers, Claude skills, or similar LLM tool integrations.

• Preferred: Experience working with campaign, party, or political nonprofit staff.
