This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Embed on-site or remotely with client organizations to gain insights into workflows and pinpoint opportunities for agentic AI automation.
• Facilitate workflow discovery sessions and collaboratively develop prioritized roadmaps for workflows suitable for automation.
• Design and construct agentic skills utilizing NGP VAN and the NGP VAN Interface.
• Oversee the skill delivery process from gathering requirements through design, construction, testing, deployment, and iteration.
• Act as a reliable technical advisor to client personnel and leadership.
• Convey AI concepts in an accessible manner and assist stakeholders in navigating change management.
• Contribute features and enhancements to the NGP VAN Interface's MCP-based integration layer.
• Enhance the NGP VAN API based on gaps identified during client deployments.
• Document skill designs, deployment patterns, and reusable components thoroughly.
• Integrate field learnings into product feedback, roadmap contributions, and engineering priorities.
• 3–5 years of experience in professional software engineering or product management.
• Proven ability to independently build and deliver production-quality software.
• Experience working with LLM APIs, agentic frameworks, and/or MCP-based tools.
• Background in designing and implementing skills, tools, or agents that automate actual workflows.
• Proficient in back-end or full-stack development using Python, Node.js, or .NET.
• Comfortable working across the stack as required by client engagements.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, including both consumption and design.
• Client-facing experience in conducting discovery sessions and managing stakeholder expectations.
• Ability to convert real-world requirements into technical specifications effectively.
• Capable of working independently in an embedded or forward-deployed model.
• Familiarity with Democratic campaigns, progressive nonprofits, and/or political technology.
• Willingness and ability to travel on-site to meet with customer organizations.
