Dynatrace Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the implementation, configuration, and customization of the PowerConnect App within Dynatrace for SAP observability.

• Tailor and maintain PowerConnect dashboards, log processing, and metric extraction rules for customer SAP environments.

• Facilitate the onboarding of applications, infrastructure, and cloud workloads across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including Kubernetes and Docker.

• Design, develop, and sustain custom dashboards, alert profiles, workflows, and analytics utilizing DQL and Grail.

• Monitor application performance and availability; spearhead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis leveraging Davis AI causal insights.

• Set up Synthetic Monitoring, Real User Monitoring, APM, and Log Monitoring.

• Perform health assessments and architecture reviews; provide actionable best-practice recommendations.

• Integrate Dynatrace with ServiceNow, Jira, Slack, and other ITSM/collaboration platforms.

• Support OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing initiatives across microservices architectures.

• Collaborate with Product Development and Product Support teams to enhance system functionality and reliability.

• Conduct customer and internal enablement workshops, training sessions, and operations review meetings.

• Maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, and runbooks.

• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to the development of internal observability standards and best practices.

• Work autonomously on defined projects while collaborating with senior architects on complex initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 1-3 years of experience in Application Performance Management (APM), observability, or related IT infrastructure roles.

• At least 1 year of hands-on experience implementing and administering Dynatrace (or similar APM/observability tools).

• Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Proficient in one or more programming/scripting languages (Java, .NET, Python, or JavaScript).

• A solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and modern web application architectures.

• Ability to convey technical insights into business implications for non-technical stakeholders.

• Dynatrace Certified Associate or Dynatrace Certified Professional certification.

• Prior experience in consulting, client-facing roles, or project management.

• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Grail/DQL, and Davis AI-driven anomaly detection.

• Experience with SAP environments (S4HANA, ECC, BW, PI/PO, HANA) and PowerConnect or related SAP-to-observability integration tools.

• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible).

• Exposure to relational database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2).

• ITIL Foundation certification.
