Domestic Buyer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Director of Supply Chain on weekly, monthly, and quarterly inventory planning as well as domestic gap-fill purchasing.

• Convert demand forecasts, open-to-buy figures, and project pipelines into domestic purchasing strategies.

• Monitor bulk domestic purchase orders and expected times of arrival (ETAs), identify delays, and report on inventory shortages, purchases, and risks.

• Develop and enhance a network of wholesale, closeout, and liquidation vendors.

• Evaluate liquidation proposals, conduct vendor assessments, negotiate pricing and terms, and maintain an organized vendor database.

• Manage the procurement and purchase-order process for standard domestic items such as mattresses, bedding, and pillow inserts.

• Establish reorder points and par levels for each warehouse while overseeing receiving and stock visibility.

• Source soft goods and decorative accessories, ensuring predictable receiving schedules by market.

• Work closely with the Director of Supply Chain, Creative Directors, merchandising, design, operations, and other business-line leaders.

• Assess vendor proposals and product samples to ensure they meet quality, design, and value criteria.

• Centralize domestic procurement activities related to interior design and direct furniture/enterprise sales.

• Achieve near-zero stockouts, ensure qualified vendor coverage, maintain reliable receiving, deliver cost savings, protect margins, and communicate risks proactively.


⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

• 5–7 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or procurement; experience in the furniture, home goods, or textiles sectors is highly desirable.

• Proven experience in sourcing through wholesale, closeout, or liquidation channels.

• A solid track record of managing vendor relationships from sourcing to negotiation, purchase orders, and performance management.

• Strong analytical abilities with expertise in Excel/Google Sheets; adept at working with inventory planning, OTB, and purchase order systems.

• Experience managing multiple warehouses or markets simultaneously is a significant advantage.

• Exceptional negotiation, organizational, and relationship management skills.

• Ability to act swiftly and decisively on time-sensitive gap-fill purchasing opportunities.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
