This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Receive and clarify client work requests while negotiating deadlines.
• Explore alternative solutions to deadline requests when necessary.
• Manage and prioritize multiple projects across the team effectively.
• Act as a key resource for document production, proofreading, and quality assurance inquiries.
• Detect and rectify errors in complex business documents.
• Identify formatting and compositional errors while ensuring citation formatting is accurate.
• Compare corrected proofs with markup to ensure quality assurance.
• Oversee compliance with formatting standards and proofreading protocols.
• Exemplify professional client-service expectations, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are achieved.
• Create and deliver ongoing training for both new and existing team members.
• Coordinate across shifts to ensure timely delivery of client work with the expected quality.
• Provide training for junior staff as needed.
• Communicate any job or deadline issues to managers and/or clients.
• Assist Leads, Supervisors, or Managers with administrative processes and systems.
• Ensure compliance with company conduct, attire, performance, and attendance policies.
• Offer recommendations for development goals, training, and performance expectations.
• Engage with clients in person, via phone, or electronically.
• Comply with Williams Lea, client-site, and equipment-use policies.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu.
• Minimum of 3 years of prior office experience in proofreading, word processing, or document production.
• Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Capability to technically troubleshoot relevant business/client software.
• Advanced understanding of document production and/or proofreading procedures and widely accepted practices.
• Extensive familiarity with business terminology, document production, and/or proofing formats.
• Skillful and efficient use of reference resources.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication, along with interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented team environment.
• Good judgment, organizational skills, decision-making, problem-solving, and escalation capabilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Competence in handling sensitive and/or confidential documents and information.
• Ability to interact effectively with diverse backgrounds and multifunctional teams.
• Self-motivated with a positive, proactive attitude.
• Certification in MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is desirable.
