Dispatcher/Router Combo

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Facilitate communication with WM drivers to assist in resolving issues while they are en route.

• Manage incoming service orders and guide drivers accordingly.

• Address service challenges related to residential, commercial, and roll-off operations.

• Collaborate with WM customer service, sales teams, route managers, mechanics, and operational personnel.

• Utilize WM proprietary software for the management of same-day ticket routing.

• Prepare routes for the upcoming day.

• Dispatch drivers to service calls based on customer requirements, driver locations, loads, and daily considerations.

• Optimize routes in coordination with the service department and service sites.

• Assess and determine daily driver staffing needs.

• Allocate routes and service tickets throughout the day and for subsequent days.

• Respond to incoming calls and emails from customer service and sales departments.

• Oversee pickup and delivery requests for container movements within the designated market area.

• Engage with customers on-site to address service delays.

• Troubleshoot issues related to delivery and pickup.

• Ensure same-day service on missed pickups by efficiently managing routing and tracking driver movements.

• Travel up to 15% may be necessary for face-to-face interactions with responsible sites.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.

• Minimum of 6 months relevant work experience in a team-oriented environment.

• Strong ability to communicate effectively across multiple areas.

• Capability to multitask within a dynamic work environment.

• Exceptional organizational skills.

• Ability or willingness to acquire a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative if necessary for business air travel or access to federal properties.
