This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Oversee the engineering team tasked with developing and expanding DeepHealth’s platform and products.
• Propel technical strategy, architectural decisions, engineering excellence, and the multi-year engineering roadmap.
• Direct architecture and design choices for sophisticated distributed systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Implement engineering standards, processes, best practices, accountability for delivery, system uptime, and management of technical debt.
• Collaborate with Product Management to fulfill the product roadmap and convert business requirements into engineering plans.
• Promote agile delivery methodologies and guarantee high-quality releases that comply with regulatory and compliance standards.
• Work alongside Clinical, Data Science, Design, Product, Operations, Commercial, and executive leadership teams.
• Set engineering KPIs and OKRs and convey technical concepts and trade-offs to stakeholders, executives, and the Board.
• Foster innovation in tooling, automation, and the adoption of AI/ML technologies.
• Recruit, retain, develop, supervise, coach, and assess engineering talent across backend, frontend, platform, and data engineering.
• Define team structures, roles, career paths, performance frameworks, and onboarding programs.
• Delegate and prioritize workloads, track progress, adjust resources, conduct performance evaluations, and implement development or improvement plans.
• Cultivate technical excellence, accountability, continuous improvement, psychological safety, inclusive collaboration, and conflict resolution.
• Advocate for emerging technologies and assess build-versus-buy decisions.
• Contribute to executive leadership strategy, culture, and decision-making.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is mandatory.
• Over 12 years of experience in software engineering.
• More than 5 years in engineering leadership positions.
• Experience preferably in SaaS, health tech, or regulated industries.
• Proven history of building and scaling distributed software systems and high-performing engineering teams.
• Extensive knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure, microservices, APIs, and modern DevOps/CI-CD practices.
• Ability to engage in code reviews, architecture discussions, and executive-level roadmap conversations.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical mindset leveraging engineering metrics, system performance data, and business outcomes.
• Capability to lead cross-functional teams in dynamic, ambiguous environments with competing priorities.
• Outstanding program management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Familiarity with GitHub, Jira, PagerDuty, Datadog, or similar engineering productivity and observability tools.
• Experience in HIPAA-compliant environments.
• Knowledge of HL7 and FHIR is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
• Adherence to employment laws, DeepHealth policies, data privacy, safety, confidentiality, and universal safety standards.
• Capability to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, speak, listen, and perform advanced cognitive tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
• Remote work environment.
• Domestic/international travel up to 10%.
