This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Spearhead the comprehensive marketing strategy and go-to-market initiatives for Small Business, overseeing everything from proposition development to launch, optimization, and ongoing engagement.
• Establish value propositions, positioning, messaging, target audiences, channel strategies, and integrated customer experiences.
• Shift the go-to-market approach from isolated launches to continuous, iterative solutions.
• Leverage customer research, behavioral and performance data, competitive intelligence, and market trends to pinpoint opportunities.
• Guide product positioning, messaging, creative strategies, and go-to-market decisions.
• Engage and align stakeholders across Marketing, Small Business Product, Communications, and other essential functions.
• Convert product features and partner advantages into distinct customer messaging for both acquisition and existing customer journeys.
• Develop integrated go-to-market roadmaps that include strategies, milestones, decision points, dependencies, and measurement frameworks.
• Establish success metrics and evaluate go-to-market effectiveness using performance insights.
• Spot optimization opportunities and provide guidance for future product and marketing strategies.
• Craft narratives that communicate strategic decisions, recommendations, progress, risks, and business impact to senior leadership.
• Demonstrated experience in crafting marketing strategies and go-to-market plans for products, propositions, benefits, or other intricate customer offerings, preferably in financial services, payments, B2B, or Small Business sectors.
• Strong strategic marketing acumen that links customer needs, product capabilities, competitive dynamics, and business objectives into unique value propositions and actionable go-to-market strategies.
• Proven success in evolving go-to-market models from singular launches to ongoing customer solutions.
• A robust customer-first mentality with the capability to translate product features and partner benefits into persuasive customer messaging.
• Proficient in synthesizing customer research, competitive intelligence, performance data, and business inputs into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Capacity to lead through influence and mobilize complex cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Outstanding written, verbal, and visual communication, along with storytelling abilities.
• Skillful at influencing senior leaders and fostering alignment around strategic recommendations.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Proactive, hands-on, and highly accountable.
• Strong collaboration, influencing, and negotiation skills.
• Experience in people leadership, including coaching, motivating, and developing talent.
• 8–10 years of business and marketing experience preferred.
• Eligibility to work with American Express in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
