This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +6 more states.
• Oversee the security engineering practice across SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and additional security platforms.
• Facilitate operational and strategic planning, promote innovation, and distribute resources throughout MSS and AFC portfolios.
• Take ownership of technical direction and quality for MDR, co-managed SIEM, data engineering, and Tier 1 engineering-triage services.
• Establish platform architecture, detection engineering standards, data-pipeline design, and SOAR orchestration.
• Enhance processes, documentation, detection content, continuous improvement metrics, efficiency, and adherence to SLOs.
• Manage practice operations, offer management, and sales enablement; collaborate on scoping, proposals, and offer development.
• Lead high-priority projects and uphold quality standards.
• Implement security protocols, change management, standards, and service provision policies and procedures.
• Act as the executive escalation point for platform and service delivery issues.
• Oversee service efficiency, value, quality, cost improvements, outcomes, and client satisfaction.
• Handle purchasing input, budgeting, and vendor/tooling decisions.
• Supervise staffing, recruitment, oversight, scheduling, development, assessment, discipline, appraisals, training, and performance management.
• Monitor evolving risks, platform capabilities, and vendor roadmaps.
• Represent Optiv to clients, partners, and industry peers.
• Maintain communication with executives, group leaders, and clients during stewardship calls and escalations.
• Lead through Senior Managers and Managers; oversee staffing, recruitment, development, performance management, budgeting, and disciplinary actions.
• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
• Master's Degree in a related discipline is preferred.
• Advanced security and/or leadership certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in information security and professional/managed services is required.
• Proven leadership in security engineering, SOC platform, or MSS delivery teams, including managing people, is required.
• Extensive information security and platform engineering experience across SIEM, EDR, SOAR, Wiz, and Cribl is required.
• Experience in practice management, offer/sales enablement, and executing managed security services engagements is required.
• Experience in scaling operations through security automation and orchestration technologies is preferred.
• Must be available for scheduled and on-call/after-hours support, maintenance windows, and escalations, 24/7/365.
• Occasional travel, generally less than 15%, may be necessary.
• Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical documentation, statements of work, and service-level reporting.
• Capable of writing clear runbooks, standard operating procedures, and executive-level communications.
• Skilled in presenting technical and service information to both technical staff and non-technical client stakeholders.
