Director, Product Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Product teams to create user experiences that enhance workplace collaboration and productivity.

• Directly lead and manage a team of 8–10 designers and/or managers.

• Employ design thinking methodologies to craft experiences utilizing AI, Machine Learning, and mobile technology.

• Oversee a diverse portfolio of products while mentoring and guiding team members.

• Partner with Product and Engineering teams on strategic definition, planning, architecture, and execution of product roadmaps.

• Ensure a cohesive and unified experience across the ServiceNow ecosystem.

• Lead assessments of user needs, task analyses, user profiling, user research, competitive analysis, and user testing.

• Develop usability plans, high-level task flows, storyboards, and design documents to effectively communicate concepts and vision.

• Iterate on task scenarios, navigation maps, flows, and state-transition diagrams to document design decisions.

• Oversee the creation of detailed mockups, prototypes, and behavior specifications.

• Ensure consistency in user experiences across mobile and desktop platforms.

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the company design system.

• Supervise UI layouts, controls, labels, and graphical elements for both mobile and desktop software.

• Engage in user experience specifications, testing, evaluation, and documentation.

• Collaborate with product management on UX ideation and innovation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in critically evaluating how to incorporate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.

• 15+ years of experience in enterprise product design.

• An inspiring portfolio showcasing the processes used to create exceptional user experiences.

• Proven experience in defining and/or working with robust design systems.

• Demonstrated ability to build accessible projects.

• A minimum of 8 years in visual and interaction design, with at least 5 years in Experience Design or a related field.

• Over 3 years of experience managing design teams.

• Proficiency with design tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, or similar applications.

• Capability to rapidly prototype using tools like Axure, Keynote, Framer, Principle, or comparable software.

• Ability to simplify and clarify complex problems into straightforward solutions.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Excellent skills in teamwork, communication, and technical problem-solving.

• Experience working within an iterative and agile development environment.

• Capacity to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced, truly agile setting.

• High initiative, a good sense of humor, and a “make it work” attitude.

• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

• Expertise in one or more product areas: IT Security Management, IT Operations Management, Security Operations, HR Service Delivery, Customer Service Management (CSM), or Finance & Legal.

• Experience in creating content and/or designing in compliance with WCAG 2.0/2.1 AA guidelines is an advantage.
