This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the complete product strategy, roadmap, and launch criteria for APEX platform surfaces over a 1–6 quarter timeline.
• Establish launch readiness criteria for non-deterministic systems alongside Engineering, Security, Research, and Design teams.
• Define the autonomy spectra and user trust and control experiences.
• Proactively identify and mitigate potential misuse and risks prior to launch.
• Outline monitoring, audit trails, and rollback capabilities for autonomous features.
• Create prototypes, scripts, and evaluation harnesses within engineering and product repositories, as well as internal SDKs.
• Utilize the platform daily, submitting accurate bug reports and requests for behavior changes.
• Instrument adoption, quality, and safety metrics, while conducting experiments and A/B tests.
• Lead, coach, and develop product managers, including crafting development plans and conducting performance discussions.
• Recruit and cultivate AI-fluent, technically proficient product managers.
• Convert vision and portfolio strategy into sequenced roadmaps aligned with business OKRs.
• Own domain-level OKRs and provide updates on progress, risks, and trade-offs.
• Make decisions regarding building, buying, or partnering with clear ROI justification.
• Foster cross-functional alignment with Engineering, Design, Data, Security, Marketing, and GTM teams.
• Ensure the completion of responsible AI, ethics, compliance, and legal reviews.
• Represent the platform through enablement, developer relations, launch communications, and public releases.
• Incorporate AI tools and agents into daily tasks and demonstrate their usage for the team.
• Report directly to the VP of Product Management for APEX.
• Contribute to Pax8’s AI and cloud marketplace, catering to SMBs and IT partners.
• Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in product management or a similar role.
• At least 3 years of experience in leading product managers and developing teams.
• Previous professional experience as a software engineer or a proven track record in driving technical product direction.
• Proficient in writing prototype-quality code, scripts, and evaluation harnesses personally.
• Demonstrated success in delivering capabilities on developer-focused platforms, including APIs, SDKs, CLIs, or developer tools.
• Proven experience in managing multiple products with measurable outcomes and significant transformations in product, platform, automation, or processes.
• Competence in designing and executing experiments and measuring adoption and quality metrics.
• Ability to clearly articulate and justify expected ROI.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with frontier models and agentic systems, including tool utilization, planning, multi-step execution, and understanding failure modes.
• Knowledge of agent SDKs, computer-use interfaces, and orchestration frameworks.
• Capability to interpret model evaluations and capability reports.
• Ability to establish safety, authority, and escalation boundaries for autonomous functionalities.
• Daily experience with tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Atlassian AI, Figma, and Pendo.
• Understanding of AI capabilities and limitations, including trade-offs in cost, latency, and quality.
• Proficient in using enterprise-approved AI tools and applying data classification and privacy principles.
• Knowledgeable about responsible AI, covering bias, fairness, and transparency requirements.
• Effective at prompting and setting context for discussions.
• Capable of measuring AI product outcomes, including accuracy, user satisfaction, adoption, and business impact.
• Expert-level proficiency in AI.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on engineering experience.
• Valid authorization to work in the United States.
• Willingness to undergo identity, security compliance, reference, and qualification checks.
• Product management certification is preferred.
