Director of Estate Planning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the main client-facing resource for estate planning.

• Collaborate with financial planners to provide education and strategy consultations related to estate and wealth transfer, transfer tax mitigation, incapacity, business succession, and philanthropic planning.

• Address planner consultations and non-meeting requests via the internal service queue while managing a national caseload.

• Analyze and interpret estate planning documents.

• Guide planners on how to read, discuss, and act upon estate planning documents.

• Promote the use of estate planning technology by reviewing outputs with planners and establishing escalation standards.

• Conduct firmwide learning sessions, CE-credit programming, job aids, and client-facing materials.

• Contribute to the firm’s perspective on estate planning.

• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Learning & Development, and external attorney referral partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) is required.

• Active bar admission in at least one state.

• Over 10 years of experience in estate planning and trust administration.

• Background with a broker-dealer, Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), or wealth management firm.

• Capability to support a high volume of advisors or clients.

• Comfort in a request-driven, service-level environment.

• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.

• Experience in translating technical content for non-attorneys.

• Preferred knowledge of related planning fields, including investments, insurance, retirement, and income taxation.

• This position is remote for individuals located in the Mountain or Pacific time zones.

• Occasional travel (5-10%) may be necessary.
