Director of Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and expand software teams encompassing full stack engineering, core application services, data engineering, and AI/ML integrations.

• Drive the technical strategy, application architecture, and delivery across frontend, backend, and AI feature teams.

• Design and implement user-facing web platforms that integrate UI workflows, backend APIs, and real-time AI model inference.

• Collaborate with Data Science and Product teams to operationalize and commercialize advanced AI capabilities, including LLMs, computer vision, and narrative detection.

• Transform the engineering lifecycle into an AI-first SDLC by utilizing AI-assisted coding, automated code reviews, and intelligent CI/CD pipelines.

• Develop an AI-driven automated QA strategy that employs generative testing and self-healing test suites.

• Support high-performance, enterprise-ready applications for national security operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering.

• More than 4 years in engineering leadership roles managing full stack and software development teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Demonstrated success in shipping and scaling enterprise-grade full stack web applications utilizing production AI/ML services.

• Experience in leading the implementation of AI-enhanced development environments and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong knowledge of shifting quality left through AI-driven automated testing strategies.

• Experience in operationalizing AI-driven services and integrating machine learning models into robust, scalable full-stack web applications.

• Proven success in recruiting, hiring, and retaining top-tier remote engineering talent.

• Preferred experience in supporting software delivery for DoD, IC, or defense contractor environments.
