Director of Development – Mission Critical

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Identify and seek out new business prospects through market analysis, networking, and focused outreach efforts.

• Build and nurture relationships with data center end users, clients, design teams, and other essential industry stakeholders.

• Oversee and progress opportunities throughout the sales and preconstruction phases.

• Assist in strategic sales initiatives, manage the sales pipeline, engage in CRM activities, and prepare proposals and presentations.

• Lead and coordinate design-build and design-assist initiatives, including defining scope, assumptions, and clarifications.

• Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams to create competitive, low-risk solutions.

• Work closely with operations to ensure smooth project transitions and continuity from pursuit through execution.

• Formulate strategies to tackle customer challenges and set the company apart in the mission critical market.

• Keep abreast of trends in data center construction, market opportunities, and evolving client requirements.

• Conduct client meetings to understand their needs and present customized solutions.

• Establish strategic partnerships and connect regional teams with suitable clients and market partners.

• Contribute to long-term revenue growth and expansion within the mission critical sector.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10–15+ years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong background in business development, project development, preconstruction, and/or execution of large-scale projects.

• Extensive experience in mission critical, data center, concrete construction, or similarly intricate construction markets.

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

• Proven track record of identifying new opportunities and establishing strategic relationships and partnerships.

• Experience with strategic planning, project development, preconstruction, and leading cross-functional teams.

• Strong grasp of risk management and project delivery processes.

• Demonstrated capability to devise solutions for complex customer and project needs.

• Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

• Robust problem-solving and strategic thinking capabilities.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, design teams, estimating, preconstruction, operations, and executive leadership.

• Willingness to travel as required for client engagements, projects, and business development activities.
