Director of Data, Analytics, AI

📋 Description

• Take ownership and continuously enhance MEM's enterprise data, analytics, and AI strategy.

• Collaborate with Product Management and business leaders to convert strategic goals into actionable data, analytics, and AI roadmaps.

• Define the long-term vision for data platforms, analytics environments, and AI/ML infrastructure.

• Assess emerging AI capabilities and prioritize investments based on business value, readiness, and risk-adjusted returns.

• Report portfolio outcomes, delivery progress, and risk considerations to executive leadership.

• Lead the AI/ML practice and establish standards for model development, validation, deployment, monitoring, and retirement.

• Guide the evaluation, piloting, and deployment of generative AI and other emerging AI technologies.

• Advocate for the adoption of AI-enabled tools and opportunities.

• Supervise machine learning model management, monitoring, observability, and lifecycle governance.

• Direct strategies for enterprise data architecture and data platforms.

• Ensure that data engineering produces high-quality, reliable, documented, and scalable data assets.

• Maintain a cohesive data ecosystem in collaboration with technology and operational leaders.

• Promote usability and accessibility of analytics and data products.

• Oversee data governance, including data quality, lineage, stewardship, access controls, retention, and business glossaries.

• Manage AI governance, encompassing model inventories, risk classification, validation, monitoring, explainability, and fairness assessments.

• Ensure adherence to insurance regulations, AI requirements, and internal governance standards.

• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and other stakeholders to establish operational controls.

• Manage technical, operational, regulatory, and reputational risks.

• Work closely with underwriting, claims, actuarial, safety and risk services, and other functions to deliver analytics and AI solutions.

• Drive measurable value through data-informed decision-making and enterprise analytics.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of product owners, data engineers, data scientists, analytics engineers, and BI developers.

• Create career pathways, succession plans, and talent strategies.

• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

• Develop future technical leaders through coaching, mentorship, and growth opportunities.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management, or a closely related field is required.

• Equivalent combinations of education and relevant professional experience will be considered.

• A valid driver's license is necessary.

• A proven track record of successful leadership in data, analytics, and artificial intelligence initiatives is essential.

• A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience, either through formal management responsibilities or significant leadership influence within complex initiatives, is required.

• Experience in developing and executing enterprise data strategies and governance programs is preferred.

• Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and driving business transformation through data and analytics is strongly preferred.

• Experience working within a regulated industry environment is preferred.
